Navadeep ‘Yagam’ almost completed

Navadeep’s new film has been titled as Yagam. Arun Prasad who earlier made a hit, Gowtham SSC, with Navadeep, directs the film. Bhumika and sexy Bollywood beauty Kim Sharma are playing opposite Navadeep in this romantic
action entertainer that has almost completed its shooting part. Major part of the shooting is took place in Bangkok and Hyderabad.

The movie is expected to hit the screens towards January end. Raju and Praveen on Silver Screen Movies are producing it while Bharat Takur’s Down Town Films presents it.

Allu Arjun ’Arya II’ nearing completion

Stylish star Allu Arjun who has been ruling the roost with back to back hits in the form of ’Desamuduru’ followed by the much milder ’Parugu’ is all set to arrive with his new movie. This happens to be the sequel to his blockbuster hit ’Arya’ that changed his whole career. As expected, the sequel has been titled as ’Arya II’ and Arjun is pairing up with the naughty seductress Kajal Agarwal and there is also a second lead in the form of the raunchy sex siren Shraddha Das. The film is being directed by Sukumar and recently the team got back from Dubai after the canning of few songs and also some crucial scenes. The film has reached the final stages of its completion and it is heard that it has been shaped very well. Good luck for this one Arjun.

RB Chowdary going for Raghava

This is being called as the combination of big money making venturist with the highly talented multifaceted artist. We are talking about the famous film maker RB Chowdary who has roped in the versatile Raghava Lawrence for a new movie and this is set to hit the floors in the month of January. This is one is slated to be a bilingual that will be made in Telugu and Tamil and Lawrence is a lucky guy since he is getting to pair up with the dusky Malayalam beauty Padmapriya who has been one among the hot properties of the Tamil and Malayalam circuits.

Lawrence has not been able to shine with his last release 'Pardhu' despite the sensuous beauty Sneha going in for a glamorous role in that one. Let us wait and see how this one shapes out to be .

I am not a glam prop in my movies: Tamanna

In these days of heroine’s being utilized only for glamour roles, a disparate actress Tamanna retorts, “I am not a glam prop in my movies.”

Budding actress Tamanna debuted to Telugu cinema in ‘Sri’ paired up with Manoj. A bad start as the movie turned out to be a disaster at the box office. Yet, she made a comeback with ‘Happy Days’ directed by Shekhar Kammula. The blockbuster flick of 2007 bought wide fame for the actress and baked her in glory.

Since then she has been busy acting in both Telugu and Tamil in a number of movies. Her upcoming movie in Telugu is ‘Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam’ opposite Siddharth.

During a recent talk with the star, she expressed her choicest roles and her desire to enact characters which could be admired by family and youngsters alike. My presence on screen should be elegant and not revealing which might embarrass the audience.

On a question over the glam part, she said,” I would like to play in roles that give me an opportunity to act and attain a name as an artist. I don’t want to be stamped as a glamour heroine and I suggest the same for everyone as not to mark or treat any actress restricting them to glam roles.”

‘Allari’ Naresh new movie title 'Aakasa Ramanna'

Manyam Entertainments earlier made ‘Hero’ starring Nithin and Bhavana in the lead cast. Artist-turned-director, GV Sudhakar debuted as a director with this movie produced by Manyam Ramesh.

The new movie under progress stars ‘Allari’ Naresh, Shivaji, Rajiv Kanakala as heroes along with whom Meera Jasmine and Gauri Pandit plays the heroines. Titled ‘Aakasa Ramanna’, the movie has an interesting backdrop that involves all the characters in succession.

Naresh, one of the three heroes preens that every character in the movie is meticulously worked out on screen. The feel will be so real which will make the audience see those characters live in the movie rather than actors. The twisty and surprising element in the movie is, no one would know who plays the title role of ‘Aakasa Ramanna’. The three Naresh, Shivaji and Rajiv Kanakala will be jumbled into the roles and will be unveiled near the end.

Superstar 'Sultan' is ready

Superstar Rajinikanth who has been busy with the shooting of his ambitious film 'Endhiram' that is slated to be the most expensive movie ever made in India has managed to take time out and wrap up another film simultaneously.

Rajini has actually completed the film 'Sultan' which is garnering a lot of attention in the world of animated movies. This happens to be the brain child of the stunningly beautiful Soundarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Rajini. The film is being made by Ocher Studios, owned by Soundarya and as the title indicates, this is more of a warrior based film that will have swordfights, beautiful princesses and valiant kings.

The film is slated for a release during April 14th next year and there is news that the graphics and technology used for this has been on par with Hollywood standards. Good going Soundarya

Kamal 'Marmayogi' team to another venture

It is known news that Kamal Haasan who was keen on taking off with his most ambitious project 'Marmayogi' could not do so due to the financial setbacks as part of the recession.

However, that has not stopped him from commencing another quickie which is being looked at as the revenue getter for 'Marmayogi'. This is slated to be a Tamil film 'Thalaivan Irukkinran' and Kamal has been smart enough to retain the lead stars of 'Marmayogi'.

If news is to be believed then he has gone for Venkatesh, Shriya and Trisha but then a formal announcement is still awaited from Kamal's end to make the final confirmation. Meanwhile, the film is slated to be a completely rip roaring comedy entertainer and given Kamal's intellect when it comes to humor, this will surely be a treat to wait for.

‘Being an Ash lookalike has helped me’ - Sneha Ullal

Her uncanny resemblance to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has made more news than her films. A Salman Khan discovery, Sneha Ullal, who debuted at 17 in Lucky: No Time For Love a couple of years ago, didn’t seem to have luck on her side in B-town.

Now, two years later, Sneha is considered hot property in the south, especially in the Telugu industry. With two consecutive hits in Ullasanga Utsahanga and Nene Meeku Telusa, Sneha’s scored some plum projects in Tollywood. She’s just made a special appearance in a song for Nagarjuna’s King and is also playing his leading lady in Current.

So, did Sneha move down south because she isn’t doing well in Bollywood? “It’s just that I was too young to display any talent when I debuted. I was 17 then, and didn’t want to work too hard. So, I groomed myself for two years and then decided to do south films. I was getting some very good roles from the south and decided to exploit opportunities here. Besides being a good training ground, the southern industry is also more professional when compared to Bollywood,” she explains.

So, did she make a mistake when she debuted so young? “In Lucky…, I played a school kid and I also didn’t learn anything from that film. I looked kiddish and was also confused at that phase. So, I took a break to look more mature and improve my acting skills. I’ve lost two years now and don’t want to lose more time,” admits Sneha.

But being a Salman Khan find, and having done Aryan with Sohail Khan, why didn’t she cash in on her rapport with the Khan khandaan? “Salman’s always there for me and I’m still in touch with him. But now, I want to make it on my own — without anyone’s backing,” asserts the Mangalorean girl.

What about her reputation as an Ash lookalike — did it help her career? “It was much talked about, so it must’ve somewhere! Yeah, it definitely gave me the fame needed for a newbie, but I don’t want to rely on that anymore. In fact, when I met Ash at an awards function, I apologised for all the lookalike hype around me. She said it’s all media created and advised me to get used to it,” says the actress.

While Sneha promises to stick around in the south, she’s also looking at a re-entry in Bollywood. “In B-town, if you’re in, you’re in. If you quit, you’re out. I’m getting a second chance to make a comeback and want to play it right henceforth. I have a couple of films lined up, so I’m looking forward to them,” she says.

As for the various camps and joining the bikini brigade, Sneha has some strong views. “I don’t think sleeping around can get you work. I only believe in choosing the right script. And while I won’t wear a churidar and be the quiet type, I also won’t resort to skin show. Also, no size zero for me. Heroines need to flaunt their curves — that’s how you make a guy look like s*&t!” she signs off.

'Ghajini'- World Records on the first day

Allu Arvind's Ghajini created unprecedented opening records all over the world.

1. This film was opened with 660 paid previews on the evening of 24 December.

2. It was released with over 2000 prints all over the world and garnered a gross of 32 crores on the day one. Ghajini’s opening day collections were 2/3 times bigger than the collections of Singh is Kingg (14 crores on day one) and Rab Ne Baba Di Jodi (11 crores on day one).

Jr. NTR to pair up with Nayantara

Nayantara has a special place in Tollywood and a huge fan base. But obviously she has attracted more fans after Dubai Seenu and Salute released. Slowly, this “numero uno” actress of Tamil Nadu is gaining a stronghold on Tollywood. Of late, many producers and heroes are keen on including her in their films.

Vinayak’s first choice Ileana could not provide dates, so he settled for Nayantara who seems to be the new rage of Andhra Pradesh.

Naga Chaithanya's movie enters 2nd phase on Jan 19

Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chainthanya is now a debutant hero in the movie directed by Vasu Varma. Pairing up with him is yesteryear heroine Radha’s daughter, Karthika as the heroine. Producer ‘Dil’ Raju is producing this movie on his prestigious production house Sri Venkateswara Creations. Garden City Bangalore is where the cast and crew of this movie are filming now. Once it gets over, the makers have planned to start their second schedule on 19th of January. The next locale is in and around the city of Hyderabad. Shooting is being done briskly and the movie is planned to be released in June, 2009

'Komaram Puli' to begin shoot from Jan 3

Pawan Kalyan has decided to first finish the shooting of his current film Komaram Puli before completely devoting to politics. An official press statement said that Pawan would be participating in the shoot again from January 3, 2009. It should be remembered that he himself wanted to halt the film’s shoot for few months as he is too busy with Yuvarajyam, youth wing for Chiru’s Prajarajyam Party. But with pressure mounting from fans and the film’s producer, Pawan has now agreed to finish the movie in the best interest of the movie.

“From January 3rd we are starting a new schedule which lasts till Feb 15th. In this schedule we will completely finish the movie’s shooting except for a four songs. We intend to release the movie in summer by canning rest of the four songs in March,” director S J Surya said in a statement.

He also confirms that the movie’s name is not just Puli but Komaram Puli. Newcomer Nikisha is paired opposite Pawan. Siganamala Ramesh Babu is producing it on his Kanakaratna Movies banner. Manoj Bajpayi also plays crucial role.

'Maska' audio sales from 27th Dec

Starring Ram, Hansika and Sheela 'Maska' in the direction of B. Gopal is shortly going to be released. Producer MS Raju is producing the movie on Sumanth Art Productions banner. The audio of the movie has got released today on 25th and will be available in the stands from 27th Dec.

On this occasion producer MS Raju said, “Except for a song, the shooting schedules are completed. The song will be filmed in a huge set constructed at RFC. The music album will be released today through Aditya Music and the albums will be available on stands from 27th December. Chakri has composed the best music in his career for 'Maska'.”

The makers of 'Maska' who are popular with their Sankranthi hits like 'Satruvu', 'Okkadu', 'Varsham', 'Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana' is preparing to release this film during Sankranthi in January.

Hansika’s hattrick with Maska

"Touch wood I am on a hat trick," says the gorgeous Hansika Motwani, who is determined to offer variety to the audience and promises a swashbuckling role in her next release Maska.

"Definitely it will be different from my earlier roles since I dislike repeating myself," says the actress, who portrays ’contrasting’ shades in the much-awaited love story.

Surprisingly, she played a young sanyasin in her Tollywood debut Desamuduru. "Initially, I did have a few apprehensions but I trusted director Puri Jagannath and it paid off," she smiles. Going a step ahead in her other film Kantri she proved her midas touch. "I loved playing the magical role since director Meher Ramesh is one of the members of our gang comprising of
Puri and Bunny," says the starlet.

Personally could she relate to these fantasy roles? "Not at all. I am not superstitious. For instance, after a couple of accidents during Maska, my mother has been forcing me to wear a sacred black thread but I haven’t agreed to it," she giggles. She describes Junior NTR as a "decent co-star" and Ram as a "true professional" to halt questions on her relationship with her co-stars.

Michael Jackson (MJ) on death bed?

The one and only Michael Jackson popularly known as MJ is now critically ill. MJ has not been seen in public for a long time now. He is believed to be suffering from a rare genetic disorder and also his lungs are damaged and he needs to undergo a surgery to replace his lungs.

Doctors say that MJ is too weak to withstand surgery and this is leading to a further deterioration of his health. The intestinal bleeding is also a cause for serious concern say doctors. MJ’s publicist refused to confirm or deny the news. But Jackson’s brother Jerman confirmed that MJ is now critically ill.

Swetha Prasad's next on Rathna Celluloid productions

Debutante actress Swetha Basu Prasad shot to fame in Telugu cinema with her very first movie ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ opposite Varun Sandesh. Now, she has been signed up for a new film which has been launched today on 20th December. The movie which is yet to be titled is set to be directed by Balaji N Sai and produced by Pothina Srinivasa Rao (Vasu) on Rathna Celluloids banner.

The plotline of the script is a love story which has surprising elements. Swetha plays the role of a modern girl which has a touch of glamour. A young popular hero will be roped in to play opposite her, according to the director.

Lyric writer Veturi is penning all the five songs in this movie. Sri Raghava who earlier assisted AR Rahman is being debuted as a music director. Two of songs have already been recorded. Ravi, who earlier apprenticed for PC Sriram, is being debuted as cameraman with this movie.

The makers have planned to commence the shooting during the second half of January, and complete it in a single schedule which will be completed by the 20th of March. The talkie part will be filmed in Hyderabad and the songs will be done in the locales of Turkey.

Balaji N Sai has written the story and directs this movie. Editing is handled by Shankar.

Other important cast of the film includes Prakash Raj, Krishna Bhagavan, Ali, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Raghubabu.

Heroine Sangeetha marriage on Feb 1st 2009

Heroine Sangeetha who gave stunning performances in Khadgam, Ee Abbai Chala Manchodu, Pellam Oorelithe, Sivaputrudu and many more is now getting ready for marriage. She is going to marry her long time boy-friend and lover Krish who is a playback singer in tamil cinema.

Sangeeta announced this in a pressmeet held on tuesday. She also said that she met Krish in a tv program and their friendship led to love and now to marriage. Sangeeta also added that the marriage is going to take place with the consent of both the families. She also said that she didn’t decide anything about whether to continue acting in movies after marriage or not.

Ileana acted with Jr. NTR in Raakhee. She was cast once again as the main heroine in Jr. NTR’s new film

The shooting is now in progress in Hyderabad. According to inside reports, director VV Vinayak decided to show the door to Ileana It is understood that she has been acting quite pricey and has also refused to adjust her dates as requested by Vinayak.

Actress Bhargavi’s bereaved parents

Bhargavi’s parents were deeply bereaved by their daughter’s untimely demise. Media people contacted them to enquire about this sad news.

The actress’s father said, “We know him (Praveen) only as a professional acquaintance to our daughter. He used to visit our home and speak to us. During those times, he was quite calm and spoke only about his job. He used to mind his own business and I am sure apart from this, no other relationship exists between him and my daughter. We never had the idea to marry her to him at all costs. This is what I can tell you and it’s the truth.”

Her mother who was gripped in sorrow said, “She stayed with us for the past three days and left just last night for an orchestra program. As she has to attend a movie shoot tomorrow, she left a day earlier. If I had a suspicion about this impending danger, I would have never sent my girl back.”

People who reside around Bhargavi’s house are stunned after hearing the news of her death. On being enquired they say that she’s a bold girl and wouldn’t take a decision like this.

She has been living here for the past four years. We know her very well and she’s a nice person. Often Praveen/ Bujji used to visit her by coming here. She introduced him to us as one of her relatives as a maternal uncle. In this case, it doesn’t seem like a suicide attempt. Asin delighted to be part of Ghajini

The Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini is now all set for release on December 25. The film has raised a lot of expectations and it is no wonder that all the attention is on Aamir and his new look in the film.

The film is a remake of the Telugu film that was later remade in Tamil. The story revolves around the central character named Sanjay Singhania. By comparison Asin’s role is quite small.

Asin says that she is not at all worried about being completely overshadowed by Aamir Khan. Asin is happy to have actually bagged a chance to act with Aamir. She is grateful to Aamir for signing her up for the film.

Kajal has walked out from NTR - V V Vinayak’s film as she is playing main heroine role in almost four big projects. Kajal now doesn’t want to play second fiddle in NTR’s movie, so she has stepped out. Neha Sharma (of Chiruta fame) is likely to be playing that role.

Mani Sharma scoring music for this film, and RD Rajasekhar of ‘Gharshana’ and ‘Ghajini’ fame handling the camera and Ashok is the Art director for this film. Peter Hains will do the action choreography.

Power star ready to give life!

The Yuva Rajyam chief Pawan Kalyan said that he was ready to sacrifice his life to bring in about a change in the society. Pawan Kalyan was addressing the first meeting of the Yuva Rajyam at a function hall in Yousufguda in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Pawan said that he was deeply moved by the acid attack on two engineering college girls. He put the blame for the incidents squarely on the police and the government. Pawan urged the youth to come forward in big numbers and register their protest against such incidents.

Kajal bags role in Gopichand's film

Kajal has also been signed up to play opposite Jr. NTR in VV Vinayak's new film.

Parashuram debuted to movies with the hit ‘Yuvatha’ starring Nikhil and Aksha of ‘Happy Days’ fame in the lead. Being an associate of Puri Jagannath, his work was as well entertaining as his mentors’. Shortly, he is going to direct a big budget movie.

The film will feature Ravi Teja in the lead role. Puri Jagannath is presenting the film, produced by Adithya Ram on Adithya Ram Movies banner.

This announcement was made during a recent press meet, held to brief on a fresh project planned by Puri Jagannath and Adithya Ram to direct a queue of films on corporate level, to mark the 15 years of Adithya Group of Companies.

Sravanthi Movies begins production

Sravanan, an associate of AR Murugadoss debuts as a director with a new movie starring Ram and Kajal in the lead. Sravanthi Ravi Kishore is producing the movie on Sravanthi Movies banner. Based on a love story, the movie began to roll today on 12th Dec at Ramanaidu Studios.

Director K.Raghavendra Rao sounded the clap board for the Muhurtham (First) shot, while K. Vijaybhaskar switched on the camera.

Speaking during the event, Ram said that he’s happy to be acting in his home productions and he promises that it will be an entertaining movie. Kajal expressed that she was delighted to enact the heroine under a prestigious banner.

The regular shooting for this movie has been planned to start from January.

Ram, Kajal, Sravanan, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, Abburi Ravi are present on the occasion.

Mahesh Babu and son Goutham in Thums Up ad

Prince Mahesh Babu has disappointed all his fans by not donning the grease paint for the whole of 2008. He also did not make many public appearances and preferred to spend time with hi family.

Mahesh Babu’s only public appearance in 2008 was at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad when he attended the Nandi Awards function. He received the Best Actor award. Krishna was honoured with the NTR National award.

Mahesh Babu is reported to have done a commercial for th soft drink Thums Up. The ad is said to have been filmed recently. It is being said that Mahesh Babu has appeared in the ad along with his son Gautham. The commercial may hit the TV screens any time now.

Charmy’s new film 16 Days is now almost ready and it will hit the screens shortly. Meanwhile Charmy has been signed up to play the female lead in a new film that gives her a chance to exhibit her acting skills.

Well known villain Ajay who is a regular in many films is going to turn hero with this film. His role is that of a hero with some negative shades to him. A newcomer Pavan is being introduced as director.

Ram Charan’s untitled film is now progressing at a brisk pace. The film is about reincarnation and set in a time frame of 400 years. The bubbly Kajal Agarwal is the heroine and SS Rajamouli is the director.
